Affiliate Disclosure

Transparency about affiliate relationships and commissions.

Affiliate Relationships

Money.Holdings may earn commissions through affiliate links to financial products and services. This page discloses the nature of these relationships per FTC guidelines and international equivalents.

Current Affiliate Programs

As of the date above, we participate in the following types of affiliate programs:

  • Mortgage/Loan Marketplaces — Comparison platforms (e.g., LendingTree, Bankrate, NerdWallet partner networks)
  • Brokerage Platforms — Investment account providers (e.g., Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, Interactive Brokers referral programs)
  • Credit Card Issuers — Card issuer and bank referral programs
  • Tax Software — Filing services (e.g., TurboTax, TaxAct, FreeTaxUSA)
  • Budgeting Apps — YNAB, Monarch, PocketSmith, etc.
  • Insurance Marketplaces — Policygenius, Lemonade, etc.

Specific active partnerships are listed in our Sources & Partners page and updated quarterly.

How Affiliate Links Work

  • Links contain a tracking parameter identifying Money.Holdings as the referrer
  • If you click and subsequently open an account/fund a loan, we may earn a commission
  • Commissions come from the partner, not from you — your costs are the same
  • We only link to products we believe are reputable
  • No tracking of your activity beyond the initial click

Editorial Independence

Affiliate revenue never influences:

  • Calculator formulas or default assumptions
  • Which products are mentioned in FAQs or articles
  • The order providers appear in on our Compare & Save pages — ranking reflects our own editorial criteria (fees, features, reputation), not who pays the highest commission
  • Correction decisions or methodology changes
  • Whether a calculator includes a specific product type

Link Labeling

All affiliate links are clearly identified:

  • Text links: "Open account with [Partner]*" with tooltip/disclosure
  • Buttons: "Get Started*" with asterisk linking to this disclosure
  • In-content: "(affiliate link)" or "[*]" notation
  • Sidebar ad slots: "Sponsored" badge

Commission Structures

Typical commission types (varies by partner):

  • CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) — Fixed fee per funded account/approved loan
  • Revenue Share — Percentage of partner's revenue from referred user
  • Flat Fee — One-time payment per qualified lead

Amounts range from $10–$500+ per conversion depending on product type. We do not disclose specific amounts per partner (contractual confidentiality).

What We Don't Do

  • Accept payment for calculator placement or default values
  • Promote predatory lenders (payday, title loans, >36% APR)
  • Link to products with undisclosed fees or misleading terms
  • Use dark patterns to drive clicks
  • Track users across sites via affiliate cookies

Regulatory Compliance

FTC (US)

Endorsement Guides: Clear disclosure of material connections. "Clear and conspicuous" standard met.

ASA/CAP (UK)

UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising: Affiliate marketing = advertising. "Ad" or "Sponsored" labeling required.

ACCC (Australia)

Australian Consumer Law: Misleading conduct prohibition. Clear disclosure of commercial relationships.

Opting Out

You can avoid affiliate tracking by:

  • Not clicking affiliate links (use search to find providers directly)
  • Using private/incognito browsing
  • Clearing cookies after visiting partner sites
  • Using browser extensions that strip affiliate parameters (e.g., "Clean Links")
