The ItemAzzam

At 590 feet, this is one of the longest privately owned yachts ever built.

~$605,000,000 (est.)

The Item

Delivered by German shipbuilder Lürssen in 2013 for Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, then-President of the United Arab Emirates, Azzam stretches 590 feet — so long that engineers reportedly used naval-grade propulsion just to keep it stable at speed.

Its sheer scale required custom-built dry docks during construction, since no standard shipyard slot could fit it.

Why It's Obscene

Reported build costs run around $600 million, and it held the "world's longest yacht" record for nearly a decade before slightly longer vessels finally displaced it.

A title that exists purely because someone decided a smaller record-holder simply wasn't enough.
