The Codex Sassoon is the oldest and most complete Hebrew Bible known to survive, dating back roughly 1,100 years — a document that predates the printing press by centuries.
Bought in May 2023 by American Friends of ANU, funded by former U.S. Ambassador Alfred Moses, and donated to Tel Aviv's ANU Museum, it became the most expensive manuscript or book ever sold at auction and the most expensive piece of Judaica in history.
