Details on cookies and local storage used by Money.Holdings.
Money.Holdings uses essential local storage to run the site (no consent needed), plus two opt-in categories — analytics and advertising cookies — that only activate if you accept them in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Nothing outside "essential" is ever set without your say-so, and you can change your mind at any time.
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| country | LocalStorage | 1 year | Remembers your selected country (US/UK/AU) for currency, rates, and terminology | Essential |
| theme | LocalStorage | 1 year | Remembers your light/dark mode preference | Essential |
| cookie-consent | LocalStorage | Until you change it | Stores your analytics/advertising choices from the cookie banner | Essential |
| _ga, _gid, _gat | Cookie | Up to 2 years | Google Analytics — usage statistics | Opt-in only |
| IDE, DSID, and similar | Cookie | Varies (Google-set) | Google-served advertising | Opt-in only |
The two "Opt-in only" rows are never set until you accept that category in the cookie banner. Declining keeps them off entirely — there's no fallback tracking.
We host our own JavaScript libraries (React, Three.js, Recharts) — no third-party cookies from those.
Essential cookies/storage don't require consent (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive, GDPR Recital 25). Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after your explicit, opt-in consent — nothing is pre-ticked, and declining is as easy as accepting.
We don't sell personal information. If you opt into advertising cookies, Google's ad personalization may count as "sharing" under CPRA; declining that category (or using to withdraw later) serves as your Do Not Sell/Share instruction.
