Corrections Policy

How we handle errors, updates, and corrections to calculators and content.

Commitment to Accuracy

Money.Holdings strives for accuracy in every calculator and article. When errors are discovered — whether reported by users, found in internal review, or identified through regulatory changes — we correct them promptly and transparently.

Types of Corrections

Critical (Calculator Logic Errors)

Formula bugs, wrong outputs, off-by-one errors, rounding errors affecting decisions

  • Fix deployed within 24 hours
  • Prominent notice on affected calculator for 30 days
  • Entry in correction log below
  • Email notification to subscribers (if applicable)

Significant (Assumption/Default Errors)

Outdated rates, wrong tax parameters, incorrect regulatory references

  • Fix deployed within 72 hours
  • Notice on affected calculator for 14 days
  • Entry in correction log

Minor (Typos, Clarifications, Style)

Spelling, grammar, unclear phrasing, missing citations

  • Fix deployed in next release
  • Logged internally; no public notice unless material

Regulatory Updates

Law changes, new guidance, rate adjustments

  • Implemented within 30 days of effective date
  • Announced in changelog
  • Old assumptions archived in methodology

Reporting an Error

If you believe you've found an error:

  1. Email corrections@money.holdings with:
    • Calculator/page URL
    • Inputs you used
    • Expected vs. actual result
    • Source supporting your expected result (if available)
  2. We acknowledge receipt within 24 hours
  3. We investigate and classify severity
  4. We notify you of the outcome

Correction Log

All corrections are logged here with date, description, and resolution.

Initial Release — Version 1.0

All 12 calculators launched with baseline methodology. No corrections yet.

Future corrections will appear above with full details including:

  • Date discovered / Date fixed
  • Affected calculator(s) and URL(s)
  • Error description and root cause
  • Impact assessment (which users/inputs affected)
  • Correction applied
  • Verification method

Versioning

  • Calculator engine: Semantic versioning in package.json
  • Methodology: Dated versions in Methodology page
  • Content: This correction log serves as changelog

Archival Policy

We preserve access to previous calculator versions for reproducibility:

  • Git history maintains all calculator code versions
  • Methodology page archives previous assumptions
  • Correction log never purged
  • Major versions tagged (v1.0, v2.0, etc.)

No Silent Corrections

We do not make silent corrections. Every change to calculator logic, assumptions, or regulatory references is logged here. If you're citing Money.Holdings in research or professional work, reference the correction log to verify the version you used.
